ABOUT THE STATION
Otley is a pretty market town located on the River Wharfe with stunning views of The Chevin.
Otley Fire Station covers the town of Otley and also the wider area of Menston, Weston and Askwith.
The station has been in its current location since 1956 occupying a prominent position on Bondgate.
The town hosts many events including The Otley Show, British Cycling Championship, Christmas Victorian Fayre, Beer and Folk festivals to name a few. With stone built houses, a farmers market, restaurants and beautiful countryside Otley is a popular place for visitors. The station is a huge part of the community and often holds events and charity car washes for The Fire Fighters charity.
Many of the crew at Otley are wholetime and on-call but one of the firefighters does work at a paper stationery manufacturer.
